The Little Flower FestivalThe Cathedral proudly features floral offerings by liturgical art & environment ministers from our San Francisco Archdiocesan parishes as well as the work of representative churches of other Christian traditions. The work of these gifted contributors can be found in the Cathedral Event Center halls. |

Sacred Treasures of the CathedralThe Cathedral will open its vaults to display rarely seen sacred treasures, some of which have been locked away for 50 or more years. The exhibit will include an intricate Parisian gold chalice from 1883 and a custom-made vestment worn by Pope John Paul II on his Papal visit in 1987. This year, some of the featured treasures will come from California missions and historic churches. |

Cathedral Festival of FlowersFlowers have been used throughout the decades to decorate and enhance the beauty of this architectural wonder atop Cathedral Hill. Flower designers and arrangers from throughout the Bay Area come together for this event to create a “Gift for the City of San Francisco,” featuring a breathtaking feast of color and scent. The array of magnificent displays reflect both the splendor of the great bronzes by Italian scuptors, Enrico Manfrini and Mario Rudelli, and the great soaring nineteen story interior. The floral offerings add to the peace and simplicity of the entire worship space and exhibit areas. A kaleidoscope of color captivates visitors from the first moment that they enter the great Cathedral doors until they leave. The Festival is free to the public and features workshops and floral demonstrations for the novice and the professional floral designer. |
